I applied and paid for my daughter’s birth certificate back in December 2022. I’ve sent multiple emails with no response. The current wait times posted on their site is less than a month, yet I’ve been waiting 6….. not impressed whatsoever.

Horrible. Ridiculous. Awful. My baby is over 10 months old and still no birth certificate. I have called, emailed, etc approximately 20 times. Zero response. They don't take their own calls. The call centre people are polite but can only submit an inquiry. I've requested contact from a manager and it gets ignored. I have missed my chance now to travel to see family and let them meet my baby because without a birth certificate I cannot get a passport. I don't know what else to do. This is clearly a broken system. It's been more than 10 months!!! I have even confirmed with the hospital that they sent their portion of the paperwork (they have). My credit card was charged immediately but still I have nothing.

Went to apply for our friends marriage certificate. Filled the form and submitted within 10 minutes. Opted for the express courier service which charges extra $35 except from the certificate. Just received a call from him that he received the certificate today within 7 days. No problems whatsoever and smooth service. UPLOADING THIS REVIEW AS THERE ARE PLENTY OF NEGATIVE REVIEWS ABOUT THE PLACE WHICH ARE NOT VERY UPLIFTING FOR A LOT OF PEOPLE!!

I ordered my babys birth certificate last December 2021, I got an email that I need to provide more info which I did. Fast forward to February 2023, I tried to do another application because no one replied after I gave my extra info last August 2022. My child is almost 2 YEARS OLD!!!!!!! I can't put her to daycare without proof of identity or get a passport. I need to get back to work ASAP. Until now the office is still close and when I tried contacting them, I'm always waiting 30 minutes and no one's answering. Please don't make this difficult for everybody and fix the issue.

Horrible experience. Applied twice for my sister’s birth certificate, once it completely disappeared from the system and now second time I’ve waited almost a year , had to be filed with the special services unit and there is no way to speak to anyone from that unit directly. I have called and emailed constantly over the last year and made almost no progress. Yet I paid a fee - for what lol? Should be free with this service .

Should able to put 0 stars worst service ever. Applied for my son's birth certificate end of December and still have not received it even with paying the rush fee! I have called and emailed numerous times and have been completely ignored. Now I'm told via a letter 4 months later there is missing information, why wouldn't you contact someone sooner? Or reply to one of the numerous emails being sent? Wait that makes to much sense to bother replying to asking for help.

I wish I could give zero stars!I had my daughter in July 2022, I’ve sent emails, been to the office in person, called (not to mention be told that I wasn’t even speaking with a vital stats agent to begin with), and have had zero response. STILL don’t have the birth certificate 9 months later!

They are utterly terrible! I have requested help with a marriage record for ancestors and emailed them multiple times over the last few years - never a single reply!This information is important to my family and to my genealogical research!

Can never get a hold of them. Most states you can get copies of death records at the local county. Not sure why New York makes it so complicated. Customer service was odd and not helpful. For someone dying in 1932 sure is complicated, not sure what the big deal. They even asked me if his brother was alive to come in. He's been dead since 1928!!
